Abstract
For studying structure of the genus Dermestes L. a method of taxonomic analysis elaborated by E. S. Smirnov was applied. The results obtained have shown that the species under study may be divided into two groups which are proposed to be regarded as subgenera (Dermestes subgen. n.-type of the subgenus D. lardarius L. and Dermestinus subgenus n.-type of the subgenus D. murinus L.). The former represents relatively homogenous complex while the latter consists of several related groupings which form a continuum of species.
