Abstract	Orphinus missae, sp. nov., is described from Papua New Giunea. The habitus, antenna and genitalia are illustrated and compared with related species. A key to the known dermestid species from Papua New Guinea is presented. A revised checklist for species of the family Dermestidae from Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea is also provided.
