A new species, Attagenus logunovi sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Dermestidae), from Saudi Arabia (Eastern Province) is diagnosed, described and illustrated. It is compared with the similar species A. beali Zhantiev, 2005 from Saudi Arabia and UAE. The new species belongs to the tribe Attagenini within the subfamily Attageninae and differs from all the known Attagenus Latreille, 1802 species in the coloration and setation of its dorsal surface and in the conformation of antennae and male genitalia. A table with all the species known to occur in the Arabian Peninsula is also added. |
