To the knowledge of the beetle fauna of the city of Chemnitz – a water basin as beetle trap (Coleoptera). – Investigating the beetle fauna in the city of Chemnitz, a water basin has been irregularly visited to collect the beetles trapped on its water surface. Results are presented for the years 2002–2007. During that period, 224 individuals of 111 species from 27 families have been found. Among them are 20 (18%) species recorded for the first time for Chemnitz. Remarks are given for Ctenicera cuprea (Fabricius, 1781), Magdalis barbicornis (Latreille, 1804), Curculio pyrrhoceras Marsham, 1802, Pelenomus quadrituberculatus (Fabricius, 1787) and Rhinocyllus conicus (Fröhlich, 1792). |
