Abstract
A new species, Attagenus kenyaensis Holloway & Herrmann sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Dermestidae: Attageninae) from Kenya is described and compared with Attagenus smirnovi. There are clear external and internal differences between the two species. Images of habitus (dorsal, ventral, and head), antenna, aedeagus, and sternite IX are shown. A quantitative analysis of specimens labelled Attagenus smirnovi in AHEC is carried out; there is no evidence to suggest that more than one species is being confused with A. smirnovi in Europe.
