The male syntype is here designated as lectotype (MZHF)" ... "REMARKS. The aedeagus is lost in the lectotype of var. sexmaculatus. A. bifasciatus var. sexmaculatus does not differ from A. simonis and is therefore considered a junior synonym of A. simonis."
